FAQs

Do I need to book?

Booking is essential, we often can't seat walk in painters, we also need to know your party size to accommodate you all! If you need to book more than one table then please do so. Book for bums on seats not just painters so that everyone can have a seat!

What hidden costs are there?

There are no hidden costs for our family friendly pottery painting. Each session lasts 1 hour 30 minutes and you pay for what you paint, eat or drink.

There is a £10pp studio fee when booking The Lounge, this is not a refundable deposit. Pay for what you paint on the day.

There is a £55 booking fee when booking the VIP Party Room, this is not a refundable deposit. Pay for what you paint on the day.

What if I am not local to collect my piece?

Don't worry,  we have visitors from far and wide. We can post your item to you through Royal Mail. We do charge postage according to the size of the piece you paint and although we take care to wrap your pottery as best we can, posting is at your own risk. 

Can I bring my children even if I don't paint?

Everyone is welcome at The Kiln Cafe, come and watch the kids get creative whilst you relax with a coffee during our Family Friendly sessions. However in our busy periods like during the weekends we ask at least 50% of your party is painting. 

Can I bring decorations and food for my special event?

If you have booked our VIP party room you are welcome to bring decorations. Do let us know in advance if you wish to bring anything whilst painting in our main studio. If you are holding a party, why not order a cake? We are fully licensed so please refrain from bringing drinks or alcohol.

Price

Our pottery stock is always changing, for this reason we do not have a set price list. Our pieces always range from £10-£60. There are some sessions that have a studio or booking fee. This info can be found on the booking page.

Parking

Langport boasts a huge free public carpark. It is situated right in the centre of the town and just behind our building. Use the postcode below or search on google for Parrett Close Car Park Langport TA10 9PD.

Accessibility 

Our space is a space for everyone. We have room for wheelchair users to paint comfortably, accessible toilets and baby change facilities. If you are visiting as a support worker, please include everyone arriving in the booking so even non- painters have a seat.

Collection

We fire and then wrap up your pieces for you. They are usually ready within 10 days but this can be longer during holidays. We are open Thursday to Sunday for collections and you have a month to come and grab them! Your pieces will be under the name of the original booking.

Returning to finish painting

If you do not finish your piece during your session, we can store it for you and you can return up to 3 times depending on the piece. There will be a £5 fee each time you return. We will give you a ticket with a date to return by, if you do not let us know you can’t make it back, we may dispose of your piece to make room for others returning.

Postage

We can post your pieces out to you if you are not able to collect from us, The price for postage will vary depending on the size of the pieces painted on the day, starting at £9.79. We wrap them very carefully but cannot take responsibility for any damage during transit.

Refreshments

We are not a cafe, we are a pottery-painting-cafe! We do not have a separate cafe area for people to sit whilst others paint. All visitors will need to be included in the booking, and ideally painting! We have a range of amazing homemade cakes, GF and V available but once they are gone they are gone! 

Session Times

Booking is essential as we run sessions. If you are a little late for your session, not to worry! We will keep your table for 15 mins, please let us know if you will be later or you may incur a no-show fee of £10. If you make it but are late, the session will still run to time as we will have other painters arriving after you.

Opening Hours

Our regular opening hours are Thursday to Saturday 10-3:30, Sundays 11-2:30. We are a very small family team and sometimes we will be closed during these hours. Social media and google will be updated if this is the case!

Dogs

Dogs + pottery + busy environment, don't mix well. If you are brining along an anxious dog, please rethink as our space can get rather hectic. 

Gift Vouchers

We sell physical gift vouchers in store, or you can buy eGift vouchers by clicking the link in the menu at the top of this page. Vouchers are redeemable on anything we sell and can be topped up again and again!

Bringing along babies?

Let us know in your client notes when booking if you are bringing babies requiring space for a pram or if you need a highchair reserved - we only have a few!
